The Covid-19 fact book
On 20th March 2020, the first cases of COVID-19 were confirmed among eight Ugandan nationals who travelled back from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. On 22nd March 2020, six more Ugandans who traveled aboard Emirates and Ethiopian Airlines were confirmed with COVID-19. At that time, COVID-19 transmissions had not yet spread in the communities. To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, the Ministry of Health, recommended that identified cases be taken under self or institutional quarantine. However, as of September 2020, the pandemic had evolved and transitioned to Phase 4 with increased community transmissions.
